Happy New Year! We are deeply grateful to every member for the opportunity given us to serve. We acknowledge the contribution of the previous administration and would like to emphasize that, there is much to be done for ourselves as a group and for our Alma Mater. The leadership does not have a magic wand plan to make things happen. We only hope to create a working environment where everyone can bring their experience or expertise to bear on our collective  agenda. We want you to know that without your support, we cannot achieve anything as a group. When the leadership fails because of malnourished support from you, we all fail as a group. That is why we hope everyone will be actively involved with the business of the Mmarima Mma ’89 Batch.

Our mission as a group is to help one another in diverse ways consistent with our constitution, to gather support for our Alma Mater and to help renovate the crumbling infrastructure of Koforidua Senior High Technical School.  We support the vision of the mother Alumni organization, which is to be part of the strong foundation of every student admitted to K’dua SecTech, and create a networking base for all past students (“MMARIMA MMA”). Our theme for 2019 is “Looking out for your brother”.

An old year has completed its course. A new year is smiling at us with twelve months of the unknown. This has been the routine since we entered this earth. In June 2019, it will be exactly 30 years since we all left SecTech. For those of us in the private sector, we must come together to assist and nurture those who are still struggling to survive so they can own their business. We are nearing retirement and as such, we do not have much time to waste. We MUST be working towards getting most of our members to own their businesses so that they in turn will mentor the current students who will be coming out of school. I will be liaising with Isaac Oppong on a project in this regard.

The New Year in itself does not bring the change and progress we want. We actually need to plan and take steps to execute those plans. This year, let us all make the conscious effort to take part and contribute to the conversation around us, particularly with MM89B.

The leadership has brilliant ideas (e.g. projects & activities) but we cannot succeed without your involvement. In our recent election, only 36 of the 80 people on our platform did cast their vote. This number represents less than 50% and is not encouraging.  Membership drive must be all-inclusive. We urge everyone to get onboard. Thank you!
